Car Insurance Yugo (Car Insurance). Do you ever give money to people panhandling holding signs at stop lights and intersections?Do you ever give money to people panhandling holding signs at stop lights and intersections? I have been in a lot of countries outside of the US and I haven;t seen it anywhere else, I wonder if this is some kind of an American phenomenon? From what I gather here in the Middle East, folks would rather die than shame themselves in such a manner. Ah, well, you’re down there in Kuwait where everybody has more money than King Midas ever dreamt of. No... they creep me out... Sometimes I do, If they look really beat down and I have the money. The Bible does refer to beggars on the streets though so it must have gone on there at some point in time. I do always give to beggars whether they come up and ask or are doing what you describe. Usually it’s just a five or a ten but I do give them something. My reasoning is purely Christian in nature. If that person really needs the money I would feel terribly ashamed not to give them something. If they don’t need the money or waste it on booze then they are the ones who should feel ashamed and I will still get the same blessing for trying to help someone out. I must admit though that my motives aren’t as pure as they would seem. Being Catholic I am also trying to avoid that dreaded Catholic guilt and I don’t ever want to have to face God and explain why I let a poor soul who asked for my help go hungry. Just my opinion, but I think its only here because this country is considered to be the richest in the world etc. a long sob story. It was most of the money I had left for my trip so, the next few days I was in Chicago I ate ramen noodles. I used to go out and give toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, brushes, mouthwash, etc.) to the young kids that used to panhandle in the downtown area here in Arizona to try and help them, but now I just volunteer at a St Vincent De Paul shelter instead. My husband, long before we met, was homeless at one time and he had a job and he didn't panhandle. The only thing he occasionally asked his coworkers/friends for was a warm place to sleep when it was winter. After meeting him and hearing his story I think very differently about people the panhandle. NO! Most of them are schemers !!! Instead, I support ministries that help the homeless. Panhandling is a common phenomenon in many countries, but the use of stoplights and intersections might be predominantly American. In most other countries, as well as in the U.S. city of New York, panhandling occurs mostly where there are large numbers of individuals who are not in cars, such as at the entrances to businesses and at train stations or bus terminals. In most of the U.S., buses, trains, and pedestrians are rare, and nearly everyone is indoors or in a car, so places that cars stop are the only places to panhandle. Yugo . How to Remove a Turbo 350 TransmissionThe Turbo-Hydromatic 350 transmission was widely used throughout the General Motors vehicle line in the 1960s and into the 1970s. Unlike its predecessor, the Turbo 350 was equipped with three forward gears rather than only two. The Turbo 350 was considered a fairly reliable transmission, but wear and tear will eventually require a rebuild. Although the transmission cannot be rebuilt while still attached to the engine, removing the Turbo 350 is a fairly straightforward job. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands Large drip pan Socket wrench Wrench Pliers Step by Step : 1 Jack up the vehicle and support it with jack stands to increase the working height under the vehicle. 2 Place a large drip pan underneath the transmission's oil pan, then loosen the bolts at the back of the oil pan with a socket wrench and allow the fluid to drain. 3 Remove the plate at the bottom of the front of the transmission to access the torque converter's drain plug. Remove the plate's bolts with a socket wrench and pull the plate away from the transmission. 4 Place a large drip pan underneath the torque converter, then remove the torque converter's drain plug and allow the fluid to drain. 5 Remove the flywheel-to-converter nuts with a wrench. Crank the engine, as necessary, to gain access to each nut. 6 Remove the fasteners that secure the driveshaft to the differential with a wrench and pull the driveshaft out of the transmission. 7 Remove the starter motor's retaining bolts with a socket wrench and position the starter away from the transmission. 8 Disconnect the speedometer cable from the transmission by turning the cable's integral nut in a counterclockwise direction with a wrench until the cable detaches from the transmission. 9 Pull the clip that secures the kick-down rod to the side of the transmission with pliers and pull the linkage off of the transmission. Step by Step : 10 Pull the vacuum hose off of the vacuum unit located at the back of the transmission. Step by Step : 11 Remove the bolt that secures the transmission's oil dipstick tube to the side of the engine with a socket wrench and pull the tube out of the transmission. Step by Step : 12 Lift the transmission with a jack to remove the weight of the transmission from its cross member. Step by Step : 13 Remove the cross member-to-frame securing nuts with a wrench. Step by Step : 14 Disconnect the two fluid cooler lines from the side of the transmission by turning each line's integral nut in a counterclockwise direction with a wrench until the lines detaches from the transmission. Step by Step : 15 Remove the transmission-to-engine bolts with a wrench. Step by Step : 16 Move the transmission away from the engine with the jack, and remove the transmission from under the vehicle.
Yugo . Installation Instructions for a Bilge PumpAlmost all boats take on water by one means or another. Boat shaft seals leak or hull fittings loosen, allowing water to enter the deck area. Rough running seas, water over the bow and rain can also flood the bottom of the boat. Too much water in the bilge area of any boat can cause an unstable hull or short out low-lying wiring looms and connections. Bilge pumps remove water from the lowest part of the hull by a pump, which then discharges the water overboard through a hose. Boat owners should invest in a good quality bilge pump to keep their bilge area dry and safe. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Boat owner's manual Socket set Drill motor Drill bits Hole saw bit Ratchet wrench Screwdrivers Wire strippers Lighter Bilge pump Three-way switch Hose (smooth bore) Wire (10-gauge) Shrink wrap Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket. Determine the lowest part of the boat. Remove any deck plate to access the bottom portion above the keel, or find the lowest part of the hull for a single hull design. Find any stringer or structural member to bolt the bilge pump to, using the universal kit brackets. 2 Set the bilge pump in place and position the brackets. Use a drill motor and bit to drill the mounting holes. Insert the kit bolts (or wood screws) through the holes. Tighten them with a socket or screwdriver. If the float switch that came with the pump does not connect to the pump body, drill a mounting hole for it with the drill motor and a bit next to the bilge pump. Secure the mounting screws with a screwdriver. 3 Run a length of smooth bore hose from the discharge nipple of the bilge pump to the side of the hull, or the top of the transom. Cut the length of hose desired with wire strippers. Use a drill motor and hole saw bit to drill a hole for the hose fitting in the hull or transom. 4 Place the hose fitting and grommet in the hole and secure the fitting with a socket, or screwdriver, depending upon the fastener design. Connect the hose to the fitting and tighten the clamp with a screwdriver. Use tie straps to secure the discharge hose in place. Make sure no sharp bends or kinks occur in the hose routing. 5 Place a three-way switch on a side rail or top of the transom, as close to the bilge pump as possible. Use the drill motor and a bit to drill the switch mounting holes. Set the switch in place and insert the bolts. Tighten the bolts with a socket and wrench. 6 Use wire strippers to cut a length of 10-gauge wire that leads from the negative post on the bilge pump to the negative post on the battery. Place a section of heat shrink tube on the pump side wire. Use a crimp-on butt connector (kit fastener) to secure the wire to the negative pump terminal. Pull the heat shrink over the connection and use a lighter to heat the shrink wrap. Connect the wire to the battery's negative cable with a socket. 7 Use wire strippers to cut a length of wire that leads from the positive side of the battery to the "on" terminal on the three-way switch. Insert a portion of heat shrink on the switch side wire. Use a butt connector to connect the wire to the switch. Pull the shrink wrap over the connector and heat it with a lighter. Connect the wire to the battery's cable connector with a socket. 8 Use wire strippers to cut a length of wire that leads from the other bilge pump connector terminal to the "off" terminal on the three-way switch. Install two sections of shrink wrap on both wire ends. Crimp the butt connectors on both wire ends to each terminal. Pull the shrink wrap sections over the connectors and heat them with a lighter. 9 Use wire strippers to cut a length of wire that leads from the float switch "automatic" terminal to the "automatic" terminal on the three-way switch. Insert shrink wrap on both sides. Connect both wire ends with butt connectors. Heat the shrink wrap at both ends with a lighter. Step by Step : 10 Connect the wire that comes out of the "off" terminal on the float switch to the wire that leads from the positive terminal on the bilge pump. Cut the positive bilge pump wire in two, and join all three wire ends with a butt connector, or a cap screw provided in the kit. Step by Step : 11 Use tie straps to route and secure all the wires in a neat and orderly fashion. To test the bilge pump, add enough water into the bilge area to raise the float switch arm. Turn the three-way switch to the "off" position. Reconnect the negative battery cable with a socket. Turn the three-way switch to the "on" or "automatic" position. Note the pump activation and the discharge of water through the hose fitting. Tips & Warnings If for any reason you have to use your own nuts, bolts, spacers and fittings, make sure you use water-resistant brass or stainless steel. Before you purchase any additional wire or couplers, check to see if the wire that comes from the kit is long enough to reach all the components where you mount them. Make certain that your water discharge line and fitting is well above the waterline of the boat. The bilge pump must be mounted below the water line in the deepest part of the hull. Use wire strippers to crimp, cut and splice all wiring.
